It certainly has had some modifications in the past.
But please bring me a piece like this 2 times a year and I will be a happy man. (even happier that is ![]() ![]() ![]() Love the ivory handle. Ps. doesn't the handle shape make this a tombok lada ![]() |

Thanks Bill,
I find the cross piece very unusual (and interesting) for being a Sewar. To me it looks like a miniature Aceh Sikin scabbard crosspiece. On the TL question I think that the hilt shape alone doesn't make it a Tombok Lada. But the scabbard's shape, by itself, makes it a Sewar... Michael |

My understanding also about the scabbard shape, Michael. TLs have a more rounded scabbard crosspiece. The hilts are, or can be, very similar.
Perhaps the previous owner could have had two scabbards depending on whether he wanted to wear a TL or a Sewar? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Not only are the collars later but so is the scabbard tip. Love the ivory. Will you etch the blade Bill?
