I recently purchased one of the blacked out ones, which I understand to be a wartime variant made once brass became scarce. I collect Imperial German ribbon and medal bars, and to a lesser extent firearms from the era. This is my first foray into swords of this type, and I'm also looking around for a cavalry type to complement a Luger marked to a Hussar regiment.

(It's been sitting at a postal distribution center in Georgia for a week and a half, after sitting in Kentucky for a week. Hopefully it gets here.)
