I have postcards my parents dug out from the trip, and we got correspondence from South Africa and Mombasa, Kenya, dated 1966. I'm guessing that from what others have said we can assume that these are souvenirs from that period from the Mombasa area. Now when we refer to souvenirs, are we talking about the same kind of materials you'd find these days that fund the tourism industry? (read cheap, moneymaking items) Or is this something with a little more cultural significance than souvenirs are today? thanks again for all the help from this giant novice!
