The Visayan Islands are a group of islands in the middle of the Philippines. Above them is the island of Luzon and below them is the island of Mindanao. The Visayans fought along side the Luzonos in the Philippine-American War right after the end of the Spanish-American War.

Thanks I want to go to the Phillipines in the next few months as I am presently living in Taiwan. It is very close as you know.
