2 Small Philippine knives
6 Attachment(s)
Here are two small but to me interesting knives. The first is 14" long with a 10-1/2" long by 1" wide curved blade. The grip is wood with a steel collar. You can see an old repair to the the scabbard about 4" from the tip. It also has a cross carved into the scabbard.
The second knife is 11-1/8" long with a 8" blade that is 5/8" at the hilt and 2" at its widest. The grip is bone. Comments are always welcome. Robert |
They both look sort of Visayan to me, especially the first one.

Visayan Islands Philippines Fenlander.
The top piece of Robert's looks reminiscent of a talibon. There is a blade similar to his other one here . ;) |
The Visayan Islands are a group of islands in the middle of the Philippines. Above them is the island of Luzon and below them is the island of Mindanao. The Visayans fought along side the Luzonos in the Philippine-American War right after the end of the Spanish-American War.

The narrow one is perhaps a pinuti? Note it was forged from a rasp.
