The same swords/daggers would have different names in the different parts of India.
This is no doubt due to the influence from different countries, like Turky, Persia, Afghanistan and other countries.
It does not mean much as collectors now use mostly the same terms, but it is good/interesting to know what they were called then.
To know the different terms is good, as you may see a term used, which is not common and no illustration used, you will still know what kind of weapon it is.
