Salaams BerberDagger~ For references I suggest The Craft Heritage of Oman by Richardson and Dorr and our own thread already mentioned at post #13 on http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showth...highlight=jerz

I have been trying to get an exhibit from Musandam that is claimed to be a wootz head Jerz... and of the battle axe size about the size of a mans hand... much bigger than the usual quite small forms.

I also understand that the curator at the Al Ain Museum has a treatise on the subject of Jers axes and based on quite a collection though as yet I have not seen it...

Further axes can be seen on http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showth...hlight=wallace

A brilliant thread!
