Hello Robert,
since no one from the experts give an opinion until now here the opinion from a non expert. All what I have seen until now I would say that you are correct, it's a typical Luzon dagger from around 1900. Your replacement from the silver wire seems a little bit to thin. BTW, nice one! Hello Detlef, the wire that is on it now is the original single strand silver wire. The missing wire, the one that I am going to replace is made of two silver wires twisted together.

I LIKE IT. THE GAURD IS DIFFERENT THAN WHAT I USUALLY SEE AND APPEARS TO REPRESENT TWO CHRISTIAN CROSSES. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR RESTORATION.
