Default Odd Philippine Knife

Just picked this up and looking to find a little information on it. Total length is 15 inches with a 9-1/2 inch blade. The blade and bolster both look to be laminated. I'm not yet sure if the tang goes through the grip and is then riveted over or not, will have to wait till it arrives to find out. Seller puts age to 1930s or 40s. Not sure that this would be classified as a bowie style knife or not. Please, no cracks about the shape of the grip as the wife has made more than enough already and is still giggling about it. One more question, would this have been made for use by the locals or possiblty for someone in the armed service? This is the only picture I have of it at this point. Comments please.

Without more pictures it will be hard to make a good analysis.

That being said, I have seen blade shapes like this on PI pieces of European influence going back to 1898.

Thank you Jose. I will post more pictures when it arrives. I have seen this blade shape before also but never with this style of grip or bolster.
