Smile Another Malaysian Museum

The post from OLIKARA prompted my memory, that I had these pics on file from our trip to Malaysia a year ago. This time the Museum is the STADTHUYS in Melaka (Malacca), to the coastal southwest of the Malaysian Peninsula, just across the Straits of Malacca from Indonesia.
I had always thought that the Kris/Keris was an Indonesian knife, but found that it is very much claimed by Malaysia. The national Coat of Arms features 5, and the Tourist Emblem of Melaka is a Kris. Pics attached of both. As a matter of interest if anyone is going to Malaysia, Melaka is well worth a visit, as there is a huge amount of Colonial history there going back to the 1500s. Also MANY shops in Jalan Hang Jebat (Jonkers Street), selling Antiques, "antiques", and all sorts of interesting old junk. LOADS of knives and swords, but as with any buying, care needs to be taken, as the sellers are real sharp, but at least can be bargained with over price. A couple of pics also of the street in question. All the decorations were for Chinese New Year.
Have also included a couple of some real cool statues on Orchard Road, Singapore.
Hope you enjoy,
Regards Stuart
