Jambiya Dagger - Yemeni?

Greetings,

My father brought this dagger back from either Morocco or the middle East (Iraq, Iran, yemen, Saudi Arabia), during WWII. Not being a dealer, I cannot tell the region, age or authentication of this dagger. Please have a look and give me your opinion.

There is a mark on the scabard finial, either a GW or MD.
