Default Ngombe knife (CONGO)

Found this week, a Ngombe knife, before 1930, with the magic charge on the handle, initials engraved on the blade, and copper dots.
I found the shape of the blade really elegant and well balanced.

Thumbs up

Very nice, Luc. I haven't seen one with a fetish bundle.

Here's the one I have in my collection. It has an ordinary handle, but like all these swords, there are some copper incrustations at the top of the blade.

My piece is quite heavy. And yours ?

The handle has also some holes in it (last pic). These are for attaching a cord or leather string, so that the weapon can be held firmly in the warrior's hand.

Lucky Luc , I like the copper inlay's very much, its on my wanted-list.
I do have simular knives from the Yakoma area in copper. According to H. Westerdijk, ijzerwerk uit centraal-afrika, group2 - fig 28, these knives are most probebly made by the Poto-blacksmith's?

Largest one is 48 cm
