I'm breaking my own rule here, but I've got to comment on this sword, Derek. I really like this. How recent is the silver work? Any idea what the stones are?

Best,
Andrew

Well, I was told it was about 80 years old, but I think it's more recent. I've had it for about 5, so its at least that old...
The blade is probably from around Menelik's rule (late 1800's). According to Mr. Wilkinson-Latham, they were importing swords from Solingen (and other places) aggressively at that time.

I wish I could say something intelligent about the stones. I have no idea.

BTW, my private msg box was full, so someone probably tried PM me and got a bounce. It's empty now!
