Thumbs up Malaita Island 'alafolo' club

Finally got a really nice old one at what I feel was a sensible price, still not cheap. Beautiful, 107 cm long like a massive bar of dark chocolate and delightful in the hand. Untill now I had to make do with a horrible post ww2 tourist or dance version. Nasty in the hand as a club. Made of a light yellow wood stained black. Just like the one the fellow in the picture is holding. You can see the light wood in the distal end carved decoration. This new piece is lovely dark heavy hardwood "iron wood?" I like the lower section decoration.

Very nice mate!
How about a picture being held for scale?
