Very nice. The hilt and Dahon Palay-like blade reminds me of this post on a previous thread: http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showpo...0&postcount=13

Full tang through a horn hilt (Luzon) with Barung-ish blade.
The quality eliminates it as being used as a tool. Appears older but not worn daily. May have been commissioned for a city person that used it for travel. A barong like blade is a better weapon for someone that was not well trained.

Yes I won this one. A bit more than I wanted to spend but it is a real nice piece and prices seem to be going upon these just like the Moro stuff.

Nice! Always glad to hear one of our members grabbing a great piece. These days, prices are all a bit more then we'd like. This piece doesn't seem to be the typical Luzon type we see often..it is extra-ordinary.

Hello Lew, Congratulations on getting this great bolo. Here is another place where a envy icon is greatly needed. I and what it looks like many others was watching this one in hopes of being the lucky winner. I had an esnipe bid on it that I thought would be high enough but the bidding went over my max in the last few seconds so it didn't even register. I too am very happy that a forum member was lucky enough to win this. Great score!!!

Nice piece. Hilt looks Luzon to me. Real silver too.

I has the crooked handle and the barong-like blade of a dahon-palay - I like it, good catch!

KuKulzA...What does a dahon palay blade look like? Where is it from? Can you post some pictures of one?
