Are blades of this quality being made nowadays in istanbul as well?
I wasn't aware that blademaking of this calibre was still being produced in the area (but admittedly I'm no expert on the regions or its arms). This revelation is very good news. |

What is so good about it?
Another den of thieves is open for business? This stuff is not sold as "modern replicas", they are selling it as the "real deal". Forgery, pure and simple. |

Same thing is happening in China - they are getting better at forging replica WWII Japanese swords. Becoming harder and harder to distinguish between the fakes and the real thing.
