Willem, those rare spears I would guess are from Sulawesi.
It's not the kind of spearpoint I had in mind. I was more trying to describe the one resembling those, more arrowlike, also found on Luzon spears. A while ago Ashoka had some Borneo spears, from the T Møller collection, with those kind of spearpoints. Ben, yes I usually take a look at Steen's unique spearpoint whenever I visit him. Hi Michael here are some pics.
I did call today the conservator off the museum and next year when he have time he will give any information he can find. Yes the rare thing is the spearpoint but there are only a few spears off these so they take those as example one from Leiden and one from the British museum so difficult to see more off this stuff to compare because they very rare even in the museum's . enjoy the pics .
