I visited the Hartford (CT) gun show this past weekend for the first time. The opening was quite subdued crowd-size-wise compared to Baltimore. While the show seems somewhat smaller table count-wise, there was a large number of quality dealers, though my impression was that fewer percentage-wise had an ethnographic focus.

The dealers were certainly not trying to track overall financial markets with their prices...

I would think that times like these can be rough on prices in the 'Basic Collector' grade examples .
I guess We shall see from the prices and offerings seen on eBay over the next year or so .

Meanwhile the astute investor could have done very well in the Stock Market last week selling with today's 400+ point jump (as of 11:30 ) .

I'm not a player in the share market, but those of my friends who are assure me that in Australia this current downturn is an average bear market and a wonderful opportunity to buy. They assure me that if they buy at or around the bottom, they'll make around 30% during the following 12 months. I'm getting lots of friendly pressure at the moment to involve myself in this rather refined form of gambling. But I'm not a gambler.

Remember 1987 and the mid-1970's?

A very beautiful piece. Even if I had the money I am not sure how long one would have to wait to get your money back. Would love to own it though .
