What a nice piece! And in original condition! And the high end style, is it gold inlays on the fittings? It looks like it, and some burnt on gold wash (dont know the proper English word for this, when you use mercury and heat?) on the fittings to. A real court dao – amazing! I'll be 'chuffed to bits' if this was mine

Cracking sword Bill! Really nice!
Its interesting for me to see more examples of the handle binding. Its quite simple (thankfully!) Are green and blue the standard military colours for binding then? The pommel is the same as mine too (apart from the inlay of course) I was a little worried about the pommel on mine when I bought it but now I see that its quite a standard shape. Regards Gene |
