It is believed that there is a long history of trade with India. Hindu and Buddist influence from India may have reached Aceh as early as the first century from

First International Conference of Aceh and Indian Ocean Studies was held by the Asia Research Institute, National University of Singapore Eehabilitation and Construction Executing Agency for Aceh and Nias (BRR), Banda Aceh, Indonesia in February 2007. I am hoping in the second they will have more on the early history of Aceh
