Ginunting (Binangon)
Sometimes I go a long time between finding good Philippine pieces, sometimes they come in bunches. Here's a ginunting or binangon from the northern part of the Philippines. Overall length is 23 3/4", while the blade is 17 3/4". The horn hilt has a small octagonal ferrule, and is held on with a threaded nut. Comments on age and location welcomed.
Thanks, Steve |

I would say you have been taking your "lucky pills" but I think it is careful searching and observance paying off. Another nice piece! Congratulations!

Thanks gentlemen,
Bill, a good friend saw this one and gave me a heads up. Thanks bud! Rick, I'd love to see a picture of your Pinuti if you have one. Steve |
