In the book by Dora Boskovic "Zbirka yatagana u Hrvatskom Muzeju u Zagrebu" ( Yataghan collection in the Croatian Museum in Zagreb) there are quite a lot of yataghans with brass/bronze ears of identical configuration. Likely, all come from Bosnia and Serbia ( Croatia as such was not conrtolled by the Ottomans).
The author most often cited in the book is Marija Sercer. Together with the author and Astvatsaturyan this is a powerful female trio of weapon historians. Latent male chauvinists can just bite theit collective tongue ![]() ![]() |
