I got this for the striking pommel, IMHO. Made from 1mm springy {high tensile?} steel, I suppose you could slash with it if it was sharp. A knife with lovely patina to the wood and I think quite old. The scabbard seems contemporay to the kinfe but has been taken from another and made usable. Just something that would look cool on your arm?

I agree this is a Sahel or West african knife, but I doubt it is Dogon. The carvings of of a Dogon male face is usualy represented without hairs and with a beard, in a more angular way.
