what kind of blade is this?
i have this blade for years and i have no idea what kind of blade it is. it has drawings of 9 stars, 9 flowers, and 9 mountains on the blade.
it has drawings of 5 stars on the handle. you can take the handle off and inside the handle there's a small knife and a letter. there's also a jade stone connected to the bottom of the blade. it has gold color and it's so flexible that you can bend it. there are number on the blade, 1181. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Definately seems Chinese styled......not so sure about age . The engravings of 9 mountains etc. is interesting.......the number 9 is highly revered by the Chinese.....
Nine is the best number because it contains characteristics of all the others. It is complete and needs no other digit to be perfect as it is the last stage of everything. To Chinese ancients 9 was the largest number pertaining to human matters as ten and upwards belong to Heaven. The number 9 was therefore solely for the Emperor's use, and if any court official was found to have 9 dragons embroidered on his robes he was immediately sentenced to death, along with all his family. There are 9,999 rooms in the Forbidden City and the line of knobs on any door - horizontal or vertical - number exactly 9. If this sword is of some age..........could be an Emperor's sword |
