My objective was to make you aware of how premium repair of this type is done in Solo, Central Jawa, now & going back to at least the 1920's, of course different adhesive was used way back.

Super-glue is not a satisfactory adhesive to use on a repair that we wish to last. Over time it tends to lose adhesion and come loose.

How much time?

I've seen it come loose in a couple of years, and within 20 years it often comes loose.

The favourite brand of super-glue in Central Jawa is Alteco, & m'ranggis & dealers have been using it since the mid-1990's. They love it.

I personally prefer button shellac where a weak joint is preferable & possible, & Araldite where a strong, permanent joint is required. Araldite will soften at about 70C and an Araldite joint will fail at about 130C. However, my preferred method if an Araldited wooden joint needs removal is to either carve it away, or pack the joint with moist cloths, the moisture penetrates the wood and after a few days the joint can be separated.
