A good point John. I am working on the scabbard now, but for the crowns, we'll see. I will certainly let the rest go and go no further.

Well just took the piece to a jeweler friend of mine and he too is of the opinion that it would be best to leave it alone.
I will leave it alone and just work on making a scabbard for it. |

Years later, here is the scabbard I made for it. Just now getting around to posting. One day I may restore the gold and enamel end myself. That will be years from now though. I need to teach myself better engraving first (in my spare time
![]() Teaching myself how to carve the way they did for these scabbards, I did the carvings and the silver bands. I decided to cover the ivory in black acrylic paint - looks better to me. Last edited by Battara; 20th June 2025 at 04:36 AM. |
