Default ID on this shamshir

Hi everyone, I was wondering where is this shamshir from. The blade is characteristic Persian, but the fittings make me think it's of Afghan origin. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hmm, I'm far from an expert, but I don't think I've ever seen a Syrian shamshir with a cross guard with that kind of raised cross and wide profile. Correct me if I'm wrong but more typically they are flatter and more slender:
