Default Sri Lankan Patisthanaya

Hi All,

I've been a long term viewer and gained so much knowledge via this forum.

I came across an item recently and couldn't find any information about it.
I would like to know more about this item and it's origin and authenticity.

Any input highly appriciated.

Thanks
D

dimsboy,

Your original post looks virtually identical to the example in the Met link you posted. I think your OP has been silver plated at some time, some of which has been lost at the end of the hilt. If this is yours, congratulations on a very nice find. You might want to look at the end of the hilt to see if the pattern number, 3849, is visible.
