Based on the striking white-blue color scheme and the design of the carriage, I think that this could be a cannon from the Bavarian mountain artillery around 1850. Around 1850 there has certainly not been a flintlock but a percussion lock

Thank you both for your reply. It is in any case a beauty.
After some more searching on Bavarian cannons i have not yet found this exact type. The colours match but the design is a little different. Percussion or if it is a bit earlier than 1850s a flinrlock mechanism could have been used. There are some holes near the touchhole which support this idea. |
