Thank you for the additional pictures.
Looks like the pommel was shaped and filed after mounting. Not a good sign either. It's sure not made for battle, and too many signs of modern metalworking techniques. But still a pretty nice sword and made with a lot of effort. |

The note is too interesting. After looking carefully, it looks punched to fill the gaps.
