Now that I look more closely, I see that the screw that closes the jaws is barely enough to keep these jaws closed, without pyrite. When taking a pyrite, its travel is not enough.

With the photo we do nothing, You have to use a thread gauge, to know if it is metric or whitwort and the diameter of the screw, and see if it matches any of the standardized types.
