A very interesting knife. Thanks for presenting it here.

The pierced blade and copper insert on the blade suggest to me a Spanish origin for it, but the hilt is not Spanish. The style of the hilt suggests South America, and I would favor Argentina more than Brazil based on the combination of silver and gold washed (?) areas and the patterns stamped on them. The small bolster ("button") is not typical of either Brazilian or Argentine knives AFAIK, strengthening the idea that the blade is Spanish. The metal sheath is not like anything I have seen before from Brazil or Argentina, and seems more Mediterranean to me.

I would favor an Argentine hilt rather than Brazilian for the reasons stated, and also because Argentina was a Spanish colony and Brazil was Portuguese.
