Hello, thank you all for comment and please apologize that I join in late like this, I've been very ill.
The owner thought byself that the handle is most probably not original to the blade and that it is a bread knife handle. It would be very useful to know if the inscription is indeed Georgian! Thank you again, Detlef |

Hi Detlef, sorry to hear you were ill and I wish you full and quick recovery. The writing is 100% Arabic, though it is somewhat unclear here and there. I will not try to read it because I would make too many mistakes. Ask a native speaker and he could read it. I am not familiar at all with this type of dagger, but without an example, it is very hard to say if it is a construct. The guard, ferules and the hilt seem to fit well together, so I am not convinced.
