YES THESE ARE USED FOR CARVING /CALLIGRAPHY ON PALM LEAVES,SCRIBE KNIFE FROM CEYLON
POSTING ONE FROM MY COLLECTION WHICH HAS OUTER COVER MADE OF WOOD AND HORN.
