Great spear to have. Does your spear have a pin in the socket part of the spike before it becomes solid metal? Mine has and I have seen this in other spears from the Congo. Is the solid part of the spike octagonal? Tim

There are two small holes in the socket for a pin or nail but the nail was removed prior to shipping so seller could break down the spear to fit in the box. As far as the spike goes yes it's faceted the sellers picture is still active and I can see that it is octagonal in shape.

To many people these might not be terribly inspiring but they were very high status items in there original context. Tim.
