The scabbard finial looks like it is Tuareg. Did they use the takouba as well?

Hi Iain and Cerjak,
I woold suggest to shift the range a little bit. Maybe not so deep to the south in Cameroon and west Nigeria and definitely more to the north in the area along the Libya-Ageria border - up to Ghadames town (old Azjer confederation). Cerjak, try to look into old threads abou "takouba" etc. Regards, Martin |

Hi Martin,
The line I've taken reflects the range south to the level of Bida and across to Foumban in Cameroon where we also have verified takouba use. I agree the map should extend the range further north. I'll update it at some point. ![]() |
