I'll post better pictures once it arrives. The seller's in France so it makes sense it may have come from one of their former colonies. I can see a little resemblance in the blade shape to an Enep

It finally arrived. Testing with a magnet, the tang only extends to nearly the end of the bolster. The markings on the blade are pretty well struck. They look similar to the ones in this thread about recent tourist dhas from Thailand.
The blade has a nice distal taper to it. I'm still cleaning the blade but I wonder if the wavy lines on the blade are evidence of differential hardening. |
