Sorry to reopen this old thread, but I have been interested in Ainu blades for sometime so this re: line one peeked my fancy.
I currently have six Ainu blades and have seen and/or handled another 30 or so. I'm sure this is in no way Ainu-related. I'll bet this sword cane is some manner of modern "Chinoisserie" - certainly not Ainu. I can only assume that the market for the stuff being made in China today is not very deep so that imaginative marketeers are always looking for new stories. I wonder if anyone ever bites on yarms like this Peter Peter |
