This is my friend's mandau talisman there are plenty of oil jars each had its own purpose but one if them for weapons proof..

You have some very interesting info!. And this is fascinating. Do you have pics of examples of these?

Also, do you happen to know any Mandau and mandau scabbard restorer/maker in Sabah or Kalimantan? If so would appreciate if you can let me know as I have a few mandaus that need some minor repairs to the rattan weaving and resin on the hilts. I may be able to visit them as I stay in Malaysia.
