Thank you for this quick reply. that was my guess! then Müster this blade have been manufactured until 1880. what do you think of the handle and scabbard is also from this period? |

Yes, to me the whole kindjal looks like it was made this way, with the hilt and scabbard original to the blade. Ariel knows a lot more more about kindjals than me, and you may want to send him a PM with a link to this thread, as he can probably help you better than me with the identification.

I too wold suggest Russian made.
The type was made by Zlatoust factory and I am sure others followed and copied the form too. Zlatoust manufactured pieces did not pin from the side on these types but used a peened tang construction. I hope others with more knowledge chime in. Gavin |
