Thanks for posting the pics. Although I can not throw any definate light on the script, it is quite possible that it was part of a "contract" lot supplied to one of the then Italian "colonies/conquests" situated in the middle east.
Some details of the Bodeo Service Revolver.... Cal .41 (10.4mm) 4 Groove right hand rifling The model you show is the Service Revolver of 1889 which remained in service for about 50 years, as the standard Italian service revolver. These were also made with a round barrel and a non folding trigger and trigger guard. Made in several Italian factories and during WW1 were also made in Spain. As an example of this sort of marking, the Remington Rolling block rifle was supplied in numbers to Egypt, and marked with arabic script. Stu Last edited by kahnjar1; 6th April 2013 at 07:29 AM. |

Is 1926 the production date ? center fire; a 'modern' shooter. 'Slightly' sliding away from this forum scope

1926 is the date of mfg. That would put it towards the end of production. I would assume, the Arabic mark, is from one of Italy's North African colonies?

IMHO IF the Arabic mark is a "contract" mark, then it would likely have been applied in the factory, as were the marks on the Remington rifles supplied to Egypt.
