Not my field but here are my two cents. The hole looks shiny but the attachment of the chain to the pommel looks rather good and original to me. The attachment of the chain to the quillon is done with a different chain wich doesn't belong to the chain.

The scabbard toe end is in my opinion in the wrong direction. I agree with Ariel. On the other hand, if you look not to close it could be a nice wall hanger.
