Trying to get a good idea as to the age of this piece.
Blade length is 9-1/2 inches Blade thickness at guard is 1/4 inch Blade width at guard is 1- 3/ 16 inches Blade at widest point is 2 inches Guard is brass Grip is horn Thanks in advance for any help that anyone can offer. Robert |

It is probably not that old. Do you have a sheath?

No, unfortunately it did not come with a sheath. I think the grip is also a replacement, though I'm not sure. It just looks quite a bit newer than the blade or guard. |

It looks like one of those American made bolos around WWII or before based on the PI bolos.

Thanks for your reply. I thought of that when I first received this bolo but I have yet to find any other quite like this one. The grip is one solid piece of horn and the tang goes all the way through it and is then riveted over. |
