I also thought that the U fullers might be a later addition, which is why I was wary of bidding on it. Interesting that they area practically identical to the ones on your example Gene. In both cases these area high quality blades.

Kino, this is that same ebay (the bay) tulwar.

Segmented fullers that end in a U-turn are not unknown on Indian or Persian blades. However, this happens on items from Afghanistan.
