It is Filipino alright. Perhaps Visayas for cutting like a buyo knife?

reminds me of my somewhat newer Jun Silva (a panday in Cebu) made Garab knife:


i have a small barong that has a wooden scabbard with a leather belt loop nailed to the back - a possibile explanation for the nail holes?
