The methods of manufacture do look mid 20thC.
I find the bottom mount very reminiscent of the 'holbein' type german daggers of WW2 (looks like it doesn't match the top mount as well) and in general the knife looks like military daggers and bayonets of that era.
Does it have any ordinance marks?
