Default Gayo rencong and peurise

Here my Gayo rencong, on top of an interesting shield!

The Gayo rencong is real big and feels great to handle.
At the base of the blade there is a decorative brass piece with blue enamel.
There is a similar piece in the Leiden museum collection which is also described/depicted in the Fisher catalogue.

The shield has thick leather between the brass stars and the ratan. It used to have fabric between the leather and the brass stars, of which rests are still visible right under the stars.
It is slightly bigger as the other peurises I have.

Rg,
Maurice
