Can someone recognize these gentlemen or guess what they are doing on a typical koummya blade? A mark of quality or something more interesting?
How about this eagle that appeared to be an old fingerprint before etching? I enjoy etching old blades ![]() |

Interesting! Could you show us photos of the entire weapon?
The eagle looks American or, perhaps Mexican. Is there anything grasped in its talons? |

Andrew
Nothing in its talons. The eagle is ready to catch something. Maybe he does it in the next blade. ![]() Nothing special about the weapon. An old Moroccan koummya 45cm long, with a very good blade 25cm. It was rusty when I got it. Scabbard and hilt made with brass and silver. I wonder why someone etched all these. |

The guy looks to me as Napoleon the Third. The eagle reminds me of something, but I can't quite remember...

Rirvin, bravo!
The left face looks like Napoleon III, indeed. But the nose of the man in the right is not so "french" ![]() Also Moroco was occupied by France and Spain in 1902. Napoleon III had died in 1873. ![]() |
