These are kukris made en masse for the tourist market and have very little historical value. It probably was made in the last 10-20 years.

Kukris may be the exception. There are some well made post 1947 pieces that are marked Best Steel, Tempered Steel, or just Tempered that also say Made in India or just India and are good solid...

That is a picture of some members of the 7th Gurkha Rifles taken in WW II. I used that since the kukri pictured is from that regiment.
