Bibliography for North
America

This section remains
far from completion. The first phase will fill in with references
for non-European arms and armour and the second phase will be
a re-working of the existing Mediaeval Sword bibliography pages. |
Dillin, John G. W., The Kentucky
Rifle (Washington, D.C.: National Rifle Association of
America, 1924)
"A study of the origin and development of a purely American
type of firearm, together with accurate historical data concerning
early Colonial gunsmiths, and profusely illustrated with photographic
reproduction of their finest work." Much work has been published
in this field since this groundbreaking study, which, however,
still carries much interest and is a good starting point for
one wishing to explore America's contribution to ethnographic
arms.
